Alicia Beatty

A Franco-American Franco-Olympian, Alicia Beatty draws inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic. Her stratospheric voice, sailing smoothly between English and French, like a meeting between Nina Simone and Collette Magny, will embark on a pleasant journey towards peace, benevolence and desires for freedom.

ABOUT

Alicia BEATTY is a Franco-American singer, musician, author and composer. Born into a family of artists with cosmopolitan cultures and multiple origins, she grew up in France around an education promoting artistic practices. She studied jazz piano and music at the college of Marciac and then trained in visual arts while following the literary option of LEPMO Experimental Marine High School. In 2004, she joined the actor's training at « L'oeil du Silence » and the « Centre des Arts de la Scène  » before taking on the essential training of singer-songwriter at « La Manufacture de la chanson » in Paris in 2008. .

 

In 2009, Alicia travels and settles in Oakland California, where she forges her writing, practices Circle Singing, rubs shoulders with various artist communities and makes some collaborations. She accompanies herself with a small keyboard, a ukulele and his famous vocal trumpet to perform on the street, in parks and markets. This experience in varied ground, opens the door for private events, associations, and cafes concerts and open scenes.

 

In 2014, during a performance in Octavia park in San Francisco, she meets Michael Rodriguez who offers her the opportunity to record in his studio. "The unexpected tall person", a spontaneous live album of 12 titles sees the day, the beginning of a concrete adventure can begin.

 

Today back in France, Alicia Beatty likes to play with her voice and words in French as in English. Her music hops between slow airs, waltz and blues. her pen's ink flows with emotions. Her spiritual path, encounters and human concerns are her main sources of inspiration. She performs solo on local scenes in the Occitanie region, a new album project is on its way and collaborating with other artists as well as with some of their projects too.

Back in France in 2017, she performs solo on local scenes in the Occitanie region. Laureate of the support device "Music In Tarn" 2018, she is supported by ADDA Tarn and professionals of the department. Her repertoire arranged thanks to his collaboration with Mathieu Laciak on keyboards and machines will be presented in concert on April 13, 2019 on the occasion of the FOMAC in Albi.
